Mark II Sword Cane

A more economical version of the MARK I. This rugged blade is fashioned out of high carbon steel in the style of a poniard. The 10mm round steel blade is gradually hand ground to a four sided point with a fuller running down each face. Scalloped grinding on the upper edges makes this hardened and spring tempered blade pleasing to the eye. Nickel plating guarantees corrosion resistance in the severest conditions. The fittings are 303 stainless steel and the release button is discretely fitted into the handle collar.

Fred Burger, a qualified tool and die maker, has been making knives since 1986. He gained voting membership of the Knifemakers Guild of South Africa in 1986. Always fascinated with swordcanes he specialised in this field and has spent over a decade perfecting his art.

Three years ago Barry, his eldest son, also a qualified toolmaker, joined him in the business which is situated on their banana farm in the lush green hills of Southern KwaZulu Natal and over looks the Indian Ocean.

Here, ably assisted by Siyabonga Zagusa and Michael Kumalo, two highly trained Zulu Assistants, "Burger Knives" produces Sword Canes of the highest quality which are sold worldwide.
