Ed Brandsey

Hello, my knifemaking career started as a hobby in 1968. I started selling them in 1973 and joined the Knifemakers Guild in 1985. I make knives by the stock removal method. Steels used are 0-1, ATS-34, 440-C, and some damascus. All stainless blades are heat treated by Paul Bos. The others I do in gas forge. I make hunting knives, bowies, period pieces, art pieces, no folders -- yet. That is coming. I do all of my own leatherwork, beadwork, scrimshaw, leather burning, and some lapidary work. The sterling silver work on the large bowie shown was doen by Mitchell Zephier. Mitchell is a Sioux silversmith from South Dakota. Much of my work has a Native American influence. I do take a limited number of orders, at present my waiting list is about 18 months.
